The Sudanese ministry of humanitarian affairs revealed that it has refused to allow 15 foreign aid groups to work in the western region of Darfur on the ground that the situation there has improved. The LDS Church this morning provided much needed food supplies for people in the Northern and Eastern Division who have been affected by Hurricane Tomas. Acting Director DISMAC, Pajiliai Dobui is thankful for the supplies received at the Government jetty in Suva which has been loaded on government vessels to be shipped to various affected areas. It was curious timing for the report's release since the government infrastructure in Haiti was destroyed in the January 12, 2010 earthquake. Relief efforts are limping along. There are thousands of foreign NGOs on the ground, but no overall organized effort to distribute aid.

$1 million among hunger-fighting agencies nationwide, and will match every dollar and food item donated with a percentage of their funding. All donations and pledges must be received by April 30 to be counted toward the Feinstein Challenge. Her name is Phoebe Russell. Although I've had some amazing teachers in my more than three decades on this earth, I can truly say that Miss Russell is the best teacher I've ever had, when it comes to the true meaning of "Service." No, nothing is wrong with your eyes and no, this is not a picture of her from way back when she was youthful.
